Catering Coordinator

Location - Midtown NYC

Reports to: Catering Director

Who We are:

We are a large Italian restaurant in the heart of NYC, featuring a restaurant, bar and lounge, dining room and banquet space and future expansion of our facilities.

We seek an organized and thorough Catering Coordinator to help with our rapidly growing catering business and to liaise between our sales team and clients. In this role, you will ensure orders are moving smoothly and that all moving pieces are accounted for in our catering orders.

The Catering Coordinator Role:

  • Read, analyze and incorporate Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to, determine proper set up, timeline, specific guest needs, menus, buffets, action stations and AV
  • Respond to and fulfill any specific banquet event arrangements
  • Accompany Director of Catering on site visits to gather event info and specific guest needs
  • Act as liaison between client and sales dept to ensure event details and changes are executed accurately
  • Coordinate with Front of House and Back of House to verify timeline and execution
  • Create BEOs and floor plans for each event
  • Answer incoming inquires, providing proposals for such inquiries
  • Assist Director of Catering on large events
  • Manage daily and/or weekly BEO distribution

What you bring to the role:

  • A degree in hospitality, culinary arts, or a related field is plus
  • 3+ years experience in the catering or hospitality industry
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional appearance
  • Organized and punctual

$40,000k salary
